Lash lift versus Lash extensions

Lash-lift-vs-lash-extensions

I’m sure you’ve heard a lot about the lash lift’s from your friends, and they look great. But what actually are they, and how are they different to lash extensions?

Year’s ago, lash perming was created with the idea of the lash being curled, similar to the way your grandma had her hair done at the salon. When I first performed this treatment as an apprentice 11 years ago, there wasn’t much fuss about the treatment as the results varied, and of course, we didn’t use social media like we do today!

Fast forward to 2019, and the lash lifting technique was upgraded, perfected, taught throughout the beauty industry and, of course, shown all over social media.

Is it an amazing treatment where your lashes appear lifted, longer and more defined using only your natural lashes.  It has the same idea as the original perming. However, instead of the lash being curled onto itself, we carefully craft the eyelashes in an upward motion while adhering to a silicone shield. We then apply a perming solution, neutralising solution and finish the look with a lash tint.

So how is a lash lift different from lash extensions? First, there are no synthetic fibres added to your natural lashes with a lash lift. Second, you do not need to maintain your lash lift with regular infills, and the curl grows out with your natural lash cycle. Third, it is cost-effective not only in the treatment cost but also you do not need to replace your oil-based products when you have a lash lift. You can use your favourite serums, foundations and eye creams!
